To inveigh is to speak or write about something with great hostility. Back around Black Friday I was near a woman who inveighed against store policies to a customer service rep who really could do nothing about the problem. The woman just would not drop it and became increasingly nasty the longer she was denied what she wanted.
I notice that many people feel free to inveigh when they feel protected, either by a digital platform or their own privilege, but rarely do enough research to confirm that their hostility is directed at the appropriate place. The takeaway today is to think before you speak and make sure you're pointed in the right direction before you take a swing. ......
